The Next Level.

Utah Top Level Training (UTLT) takes a player’s game to the next level. Our mission is to help players build confidence, develop a work ethic and learn proper fundamentals.

UTLT practices a balanced approach with proper footwork in all areas, including dribbling, shooting, defense and overall player production. 

Whether beginner or highly competitive, UTLT works with players of ALL skill levels to advance their talents through personalized, intense workout sessions.

UTLT is based in Salt Lake City with most trainings taking place at Riverbend Sports Complex at 1085 Winding River Cove W, Salt Lake City, UT 84104

CLUB PARTNERSHIP

Utah Top Level Training and the Salt Lake Sonics basketball club have been partners since the Sonics’ inception in 2014. Sonics players get the opportunity to work with UTLT trainers and participate in development leagues to help build confidence and skills.

Kurtis Rice

Rice began his basketball career at West High School in Salt Lake City before continuing at McCook Junior College and later competing at the Division I level with Charleston Southern University in South Carolina. After college, he played professionally overseas for seven years, including a championship-winning season in Finland.

With over 10+ years of experience training athletes, Rice brings a well-rounded, global perspective to player development. His passion for the game and commitment to teaching help athletes build strong fundamentals, sharpen their skills, and grow both on and off the court. Whether you’re just starting out or working to reach the next level, Rice offers the experience, mentorship, and support to help you succeed.

 

Dajon Thompson

Thompson grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah and played basketball at Judge Memorial Catholic High School.

He is co-founder of the Salt Lake Sonics basketball club and UTLT and has over 15 years of experience in basketball training and coaching. He has trained, developed, and mentored multiple college, high school, and youth players in the state of Utah.

Thompson specializes in developing those who play the point guard and guard position with ball handling, footwork, and agility. One of Thompson’s main goals is to not only to develop the players skills but to also focus on game comprehension and Court IQ to help players understand the game at the highest level.
